Souls Beyond Age: Spiritual Development

One important truth I’ve discovered on my spiritual journey is that the soul transcends our body's age. The soul is eternal, and its growth is independent of how old we are. For instance, someone at 80 years old could be facing similar spiritual challenges or revelations as someone in their 30s, depending on their level of surrender to God. This life is not a race, and God works in each of us at His own pace. It’s perfectly okay if some people reach milestones later than others because "God shows no partiality" (Romans 2:11). He desires that we all come to Him, no matter when that happens.

For some, it may take until the end of life to realize the true meaning of this journey. But my hope is that anyone reading this knows they don’t have to wait until their deathbed to start pursuing God, praying, and reading the Bible. You can allow God to do spiritual "surgery" on your heart right now and start a new season of growth and transformation. As Ezekiel 36:26 says, "I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh." This process requires faith and courage, but trusting in God always leads to remarkable change.

When you understand that the soul is eternal, you begin to see everyone—even children—as spiritual equals. You can learn lessons from people of all ages, and it broadens your perspective on how we all grow and evolve through life. Whether you're a child or a grandparent, we can all learn from one another by putting our trust in God. "For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them" (Ephesians 2:10). This journey of faith is one of continual growth, regardless of our age or circumstances. Trusting in God's timing will always produce amazing results.
