Living for Heaven: Seeking the Face of God
It’s easy to get lost in the daily grind when we live for the world, seeking purpose in jobs, relationships, or fleeting pleasures. But when we shift our focus to God, everything changes. Colossians 3:2 encourages us to "Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things." By looking to Jesus—God’s glory in human form—we stop chasing temporary achievements and start living for the eternal inheritance promised to those who are faithful.
This heavenly mindset is powerful because it means we’re living for something eternal, perfect, and unchanging. As 1 Peter 1:4 reminds us, we have “an inheritance that can never perish, spoil, or fade—kept in heaven for you.” We don’t have to wait for death to claim this promise. Living for heaven now allows us to experience transformation, drawing closer to Jesus and letting the weight of life’s struggles fade in the light of God's greatness.
The ultimate goal is to see the face of Jesus in heaven, as described in Revelation 22:4: “They will see His face, and His name will be on their foreheads." His face reflects His perfect character, divine authority, and royal glory. But this isn’t just a future hope—it’s a present calling. God invites us to dream and pray for great things now, reminding us in Mark 11:24, “Whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.” This is an invitation to be part of the greatest collaborative art project of all time: imagining and building the future with God.
When we live for heaven, our daily lives are infused with joy and purpose, even in the smallest tasks. Every moment becomes an opportunity to witness God’s creative plan at work. As we seek the face of Jesus, heaven begins to unfold in our lives, filling us with hope and purpose.
Seeking God’s face means connecting deeply with Him, letting His presence guide every aspect of our lives. Living for heaven shifts our focus from temporary, earthly concerns to eternal significance, transforming the way we live each day.
