CHILDREN OF GOD

This distinguished collection, CHILDREN OF GOD, features a series of photographs taken on the streets of New York by professional photographer John Thomas McCann. In 2019, John embarked on a profound journey to discover the divine spirit of God through the lens of art and faith. As a devout Christian who believes that Jesus Christ is the one true God who died on the cross to save all of humanity, John approached each photograph with this faith at the forefront of his mind.

Driven by his spiritual conviction, John set out to find the presence of the living God in the diverse faces of New York City's inhabitants. His work captures a rich tapestry of the city’s people—individuals from all walks of life, religions, races, and occupations. From the homeless to the police, from artists to businessmen, and even children, John sought to document the essence of humanity in its many forms, revealing the divine essence of God within the everyday.
